    digital sucks, big time.

    @all the others

    It (digital) will never match the top end response of good old analog magnetic tape, anyone who cant hear the difference between an analog mastered album (ie an old one) and its cd version, is partially deaf.

    go find a vinyl jeff waynes war of the worlds, and then a cd, and then the remastered cd, if the highs arnt clearer on the vinyl, you'l never understand
    i thought we were arguing over digital images, not digital audio.

    that being said though, you have to be crazy to say that digital will never match up to analog. Digital will get to a point where it will mimic analog perfectly. maybe not in the next 10 years or so but c'mon!!! you can't be that closed minded to say that it'll never happen. I'm not making the arguement that I like digital more then analog, but i am not going to dismiss any digital format outright.

    what was this thread about anyway?

    No I do agree that one day it will mimic analog very well, but not in my lifetime or probably yours, I do not dismiss it completely, I just think it has its place, and is overstepped it, due to mass buying into it by the general public, spoiling it for the rest of us purists.......
