    Pop sound intermittently

I am using SB USB external wired to my factory amp, it works beautifully. However, once in awhile I hear a pop sound from the speaker. The pop sound is like you flip your light switch in your garage while you are listening your AM radio. The pop sound happens even when the car is not running (the car key is in ACC position).

I am suspecting this is a signal noise issue. I am wondering if there is any add-on device I can buy to filter out the pop sound?

I have no idea what triggers the pop. I suspect this is a noise issue thru my antenna. I am not positive.

I sometimes get a pop when I press on the brakes for the first time in awhile. I have no idea what causes it either.

Don't know about the random pops. But in my old Saturn SL1, when I had just a head unit and some amps, I got the brake pedal popping. It's from the huge inductive spike you get when powering all of the brake lights. To fix it, I put a regular 1N4004 diode one the brake light switch. The striped side of the diode is attached to the "cold" side of the switch; the wire that goes hot when you press the brakes. The other end of the diode gets grounded. On my car, the switch is a tiny little switch mounted on the brake pedal mount. Hopefully yours will be too.

Oddly I didn't have to do with with my SC2, which is pretty much the same car, sans 2 doors. Maybe they changed switch designs a little or something.

My situation is, I hear the pop sound by leaving the ignition on without starting the car. Sometimes, I got serveral pops sound in 5 mins, sometimes I get one or two.
