Ever thought about the parameters of pc-speakers? They're nowhere close to home- or car-audio..... I recently heard a car with a Z500 sub installed in the trunk..... Sub ey? All it did was produce kickbass (and a SMALL range of high freaquency sub bass). And if anything you don't want kickbass coming from behind you and certainly not in the trunk. Furthermore the Fs of pc-speakers is way too high, so they only start playing from certain frequencies and tthe sub takes over, which also plays more freqencies than a real sub should, drawing the stage to the back.

The knowledge behind and the logic of your view will be ignored by the PC speaker supporters

I figure if you're going to spend the money why not just but speaker that just bolt right into your OEM locations? Its not like speakers and amps designed for the car are out of reach financially or anything. . .

Yeah, they accentuate 300 Hz, and have very little low end past about 80-100. They're good at giving you that "chest puch" when you're listening to gunfire and such, but for full range music? There's about 100 cheap subs on the market that can do better at less cost, and for a little more, you can do much, much better.

...and let's not forget what you're giving up: a nice surround setup perfect for a desktop computer and gaming.

So, um...when do we get to see the install pics (you know, the ones that show what the car looks like fully assembled)
I have too much time and too little aggravation in my life, so I built a carPC. ;)

I think at this point it is more effective for him and others to watch and learn, otherwise they won't take the advice. I like experimentation, even if it's goes against the grain, it can still serve a purpose.

I could easily piece together a setup for <$350 including a sub, amp to run everything, and a pair of component seperates or coax's that would work much better.
