My guess is that this is a configuration issue with the head unit. All I can say is read the instructions. Look for something related to enabling/disabling the subwoofer pre-outs.
i have just added an amp and a subwoofer box to my existing system but the amp only comes on when im actually changing the subwoofer settings on my head unit and it only lasts for about 2-3 seconds. the head unit is a kenwood kdc-w6031 and the amp is a 4*100 watt jbl da3504, the subbox is 2*12s with peak power of 500 watts.
i would really apreciate any help you guys can give me with this problem, cheers. steve

i have read the manual but that didnt tell me anything.
"Switchable, adjustable rear subwoofer output." from http://www.justkenwood.co.uk/stock01/kdcw6031.asp. Does it have more than one set of outputs for a sub?
What did you connect the amp's remote turn on wire to?
Check your equalizer, Loudness control and bass adjustment. Make sure they are not too high
ps: wtf is this doing in the faq section?
REBUILDING!!
sounds like the remote turn on is hooked up incorrectly...

and does this really have anything at all to do with carputers?![]()
anyway, most likely it is your remote turn on lead that has been connected to the wrong wire as mentioned above.
Clearly that does'nt matter.
Oh and everyone runs amps and speakers with their carpc's, so yes it does.
