    4ch amp?

I am looking for a 4ch amp, preferably 75w @ 4ohms. I was thinking about the JL 300/4, but I heard that it is just ok. Anybody else recommend a good 4ch amp?

RF4040/4080dsm. Avionixx 440.4 (though there'll possibly be a problem with the front right channel in certain batches or something) Quite a few Alpine's..thre's a buncha em out there. The question is which fits your budget.

I would be better to have two 2 Channel amps, i've used a 4 channel before and switched back to two 2 Channel amps within a month.

where have you heard that it's just 'ok'?

JL makes great products, and their slash series is top notch.

Better quality than the others mentioned (asside from the alpines). But it's all about your budget.

this statement means nothing. You have nothing to qualify it.

    it's a pretty broad statement too...generalizes a lot.

care to specify which amps you are talking about and why this was the case with you?

I second getting a JL 300/4 amp. I just sold mine on ebay because i wanted a matching amp for my subs.....but it was tough to let it go. The 75 watts that I got from the JL sounded better than the 90 watts I was getting with a Soundstream XTA720.4. It's an all around solid amp and it sounds clean. I sold mine for $300 shipped, but I bought it used in a classified section for $220 (the beauty of ebay). If you look around, you should be able to find one for cheap.

    the RATED 75 watts...

JL runs low on their ratings, expecially compared to what they actually put out

That's true....it probably puts our a bit more. It also puts that out at 1.5 - 4 ohms, which means that you can have 2, 3, or 4 ohm speakers.
