Just wondering if the sound quality would be anybetter if you connect your CarPC to the AUX of your aftermarket Head unit?

Any better vs what? Than gonig into an amp? It all depends on how the audio controls on the head unit are setup vs the computer. I have a Pioneer in mine because I like it's EQ and audio controls. I've hooked it directly to the amp before and it sounded good too, but I had to use the Sound Blaster's EQ instead.

Ultimately it depends on the equipment you have.

so many variables here it's hard to give a diffinitive answer.

Not to mention, what sounds good to me, might not be what you are thinking of as good SQ.

currently, I don't believe that my car would sound any better if I ran my signal through the aux in of a hu, but that's my set-up and as it is it sounds pretty good.

Only thing I can tell you directly is to try it both ways and see if you notice a difference.

Are you saying better SQ by going from sound card to radio as compared to going from sound card direct to amps? if that's what you're asking, then yes, chances are you will due to line level voltage among other things.

I would say to go with the head unit because it's eq was designed for car audio vs. a pc's eq, which was designed for pc speakers. The hu eq, for example, is going to have sub controls that will help you control the sub level independently of the other speakers.

And as Red pointed out, the hu is going to put out around 4V on it's preouts while the soundcard would put out less than 1V...so you would probably get better SQ out of a hu unless you got a line driver or something similar.
