i am in the same boat right now. However, I dont want to have to spend 6-700 bucks to get this setup. I also dont want to have to have a display/controller. Its too bad there are not really any other options out there.

i will probably be selling my pxa-h700 really soon. i'm trying a different route that we've been discussing in another thread. I'll be going 4v out from soundcard on balanced lines directly into my amp. sooo... let me know, i think the going rate for a used alpine is about $350 bucks but i'm not sure.

You can run with the c701 completely disconnected. You would then have to use the computer for volume but it would work just fine that way.

a engine tune with the Paxton S/C set-up on a completely stock motor. Slapped it on there, set fuel pressure to read 50 psi at idle. Set the MSD BTM. Then went to the dyno and with someone who knows what they are doing, JUST tuning the aux injectors with the Split Second controller and the BTM timing unit, we gained an ADDITIONAL 125 rwhp.

    tuning is EVERYTHING

I guess this makes sense, except for when you want to make changes on the fly...like with sub level, etc

wow... i have never heard of such a vast difference with just tuning. that is pretty incredible...time to drop a dodge engine into my car

makes you wonder how much they detuned the car at the factory. i'm still in shock...

I spent $400 for my setup and have seen them go for as low as $315 in the classifieds....and my controller is velcroed away out of sight when not in use (it's not that big really).

The way i see it...there's really no excuse for wanting one but not getting one. IF you want one, get one...it will be worth it and you won't regret it...many can vouch.

see, the normal S/C kit only comes with a pair of 35# injectors, we haven't even touched the inside of the motor, hell, the valve covers have never even been off. We're still running the stock performance PCM, and it's not even tuneable.

we ended up having to go to 53# injectors up top and 24# injectors on the motor.

and we're STILL not getting enough fuel from the tank, need to either go with a dual pickup or a larger stock pump...

    345 rwhp/ 365 ft. lb. on a motor that dynoed something like 175 rwhp/ 290 ft. lb.

it's been the same motor from back in the 70s retrofitted for fuel injection...lol

i agree. thats why you should buy mine. seriously, the sound improvement is major. if i wasnt in a unique situation I would have been going to pretty extreme measures to keep this unit and make it work with my dash and keep it oem. thats how sold i was on it.
