So I should get my battery checked, and if it's bad, I should buy a dry cell? or a gel cell? And is that really worth it?
get it tested, most auto parts stores will do it free
if need be, a Kintik or Optima would be the way to go
and YES, it REALLY is worth it, we're not just telling you this becase we like to see people blow money.

I just installed a kicker 150.4, 4 channel amp for the door speakers, so nothing is being powered by the HU, the 4ch amp puts out almost double what the HU did and the lights seem to dim less. I ran another 8AWG cable from the fuse to the 4ch amp but didn't upgrade the single 8AWG from the batt to fuse yet. The difference may be the high pass filter in the amp, not pumping bass out to the door speakers, whereas the HU was.

I got my HU set to only send 120hz+ to the regular speakers, and 120hz- to the subs. So the subs get all of the bass. I played with it a little more today.... I got it a little better just playing with some settings. But still bad. I'm gonna get my battery checked tomorrow I think. If I buy a battery, can I take the dry cell or whatever, and hook that just to my amp? If so, how does it get charged?
Why do most people use caps anyway then?
btw, Red, do people generally use caps on competition cars (like yours)?
no - they don't, generally
it's just another thing in line, and in general you want things pretty pure...to put it simply...
and no, MOST people don't use them
