If I buy a battery, can I take the dry cell or whatever, and hook that just to my amp? If so, how does it get charged?

the dry cell battery will replace your stock battery. no sense in having a good and a bad battery when all you need is one good one.

also, dont you think you x-over point is a bit high? it should be closer to 80 or even better 60 hz if your door speakers can handle that

bottom line: caps are bad for the other lazy people like me

I think rather than simply say that they are bad it is better to say that they are like duct taping something up to cover up the problem rather than fix it.

Thought that first one was funny, since a cap stores electricity.

completely OT but i have the same head unit. Does yours have problems with the color change function. I'm goin thru hell with alpine cause whenever i set the clock or change the color the sound output to speakers dies.

    Drycell/cap/or Gell Cell

I Wuld Never Go With A Gell Cell Thare Purpose is To Charge Faster But For Audio And Pcs U Need A Battery That Will Have A longer Cycye Thats Why We Use Dry Cells In The First Place A Regular Battery Shuld not Be Drained All The Way Down Then Recharged Its Bad For It And As I Stated Gel Cells are Made To Charge Faster Not Have A Deeper Cycye As For Cap Thy Just Suck Compared To A Dry Cell That Is

I don't have a problem like that.... The only problem I had this winter was sometimes when I would hit bumps or certain buttons, it would shut off and restart... So maybe I screwed something up with my wiring of my amp.... I don't know. But I can change colors and stuff... no problems..
