I've got the M13000, could that also have the bad grounds for the audio? How would I go about checking that with a MM, and how would I fix it if it does turn up to be bad grounds there.
There were many M10000's sold that had bad grounds at the audio jacks on the motherboard. If you can hear hard drive and mouse movement noise, then that is the problem. Out of all the boards that EPIA offers, the M10000's are the very worst for build quality. The MII's are a better investment.

Mechanic - that's good to know!
Do you have a link to anything by Via confirming this?
I'd love to read up about it!

ascendotuum : I am not sure that this issue would even be associated with any EPIA board other than the M10000. If you hear mouse movement noise then perhaps it would be the same issue. Not sure what the fix would be. We evaluated a few M10000's for use in our own products, found out what crap they really were, and sent them back.
Red GTi VR6 : EPIA would not even admit to the bad batch of capacitors they used in thousands of M10000 boards until the issue was made public through other investigations, so I really doubt they would even acknowledge that there is an issue with their motherboard sound jacks.
hey cris,
im having the same issues as you are. I was wondering if you found the problem?
nevermind, i believe i fixed mine, i took the ground from the main HU and grounded it to the PC. Seems to work so far. ill let you know after i rerun the wires for the final time.
