looks like that cut was made using a cutting wheel and the charring is due to the fibrelgass pcb getting hot.
edit: the scratches around it also show that whoever did it did a **** poor job (as well as the charring).
yea, I agree with furball69. Somebody has deffinitely fixed a trace on that and it looks like the other one needs the same treatment. Cant hurt to do. Just follow the other trace and find 2 points that you can solder to to bridge the gap. it's probably worth fixing the third trace thats damaged as well.

Hooking it up now....lets pray(even tho I'm not religious).
is there anyting in the case that could have damaged the pcb and then shorted it out? could be a fretting gouge.

False alarm....
Stoped working after a little bit.
Found out that it doesnt do it because it gets bumped....it does it randomly.
Any ideas why it would randomly protect itself every other second?
