on my deh-p350 and my deh-p7700mp i had to turn off the deck then hold down source (i think) then a menu comes up and in that menu you can turn on or off the aux in
Hey, I just put a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP in my car, and I cant figure out the Aux input?
The head unit has one 3.5m stereo plug as the aux input.
If I put the stereo wire from the head unit to my mp3 player(ive tried a few different mp3 players) nothing happens, the head unit acts as if nothing happened. the manual said it should automaticly detect AUX but it doesnt, and I cant go to AUX through source either... is it defective or something?
thanks.

OK Guy's
We have the same issue and yes turned on the inputs both of them.
The wifes I-Tunes phone will only play when we connect it to the adapter (for her phone to a 3.5mm) then to the 3.5mm from the deck Aux 1 input.
Any other Ideas!
there was a misprint in the manual..or at least mine (I got mine when it first came out). I THINK the manual said to hold down function, until the headunit comes on, and that takes you into setup. This is wrong, holding down function won't turn the headunit on.
What you have to do, is what AllThingsEnd said, turn the headunit off, and turn it back on by holding down source (on the P4800, source is just pushing in the volume knob).

Yes I have tried that.
Got both set on AUX 1 and AUX 2.
When we plug in her I Tune phone you can hear a connection threw the speakers but when you play anything from the phone it plays only on the speaker on the phone not via the deck?
Stumped!
You sure your adapter from the phone is correct? Don't most of those phones have a special 2.5mm connector to allow for a standard 'phone' headset to connect, as well as stereo headphones?
I bet you need a four conductor 2.5mm adapter, and you have a three.. Just a theory.
Thanks
Looks like after I did some looking that we need a pioneer adapter to make the MP3 players work.
But as they still have not fixed our doorlocks amps not working this just gets added to the list now.
3 weeks and sstill no tunes yet! What do you expect for $2600
