I had one of those a couple years ago. I dont remember what it was. That's the standard color for illumination
I recently bought this equalizer (Memphis eq50), I have no instructions for it and the website doesn't offer any help either. It has three wires running out of the back... a red (positive), a black (negative), and an orange wire... what is this orange wire for?

ahh...thanks... so the orange wire from my EQ would need to go to the red/black wire on the harness of the civic?
I would be willing to bet that this wire is not an illumination wire but instead a remote wire so that the eq doesnt stay on all the time. Especially considering that from what I see in the pictures there is nothing that would need to be dimmed..
It its three wires its defintiely remote.

ok.. do this connect everything then connect the unknown wire to 12v and see what happens.
The lights come one...but it comes on even when I just use the orange wire and the ground wire....Originally Posted by proph

Also...I went to the memphis site and they don't have manuels and don't honor internet sales...being since I bought it off of ebay, I think my best bet is to find a dealer and ask them what they are for.
