    IS my capacitor bad?

OK so I I am trying to install my new system... I connect all the powers, grounds and remotes to where they needed to be. OF course doing all this while the power wire to the system is disconnected from the battery. So after everything is connected i go to turn on the car and all of a sudden i am getting a buzz from the capacitor, i shut the car off. ANd stupid me I forgot to put the power wire coming from the trunk back on the battery. SO i connected the pwer wire back and i get no buzz but my cap doesnt turn on. I use my multimeter and I get correct voltage everywhere but the cap isnt turning on and it will obviously not turn my amps on. Does the cap just need to be recharged or is it a bad cap now?

May be the cap need to be recharged, you must first charge your cap using a 1K ohm resistor and a multimeter to watch the charging process until read 12 V. also be careful do not hold the resistor with you hand you could be burned, the current flowing through the resistor will cause the resistor to heat up.
    Hope this help.

I called up tech support, they said i need to recharge it with a 27ohm resistor...I checked radio shacks website and they dont carry it, where can i get a 27ohm resistor?

May be the problem comes from the remote, try to connect the cap directly to the battery positive use the same positive wire to both remote and main power cap positive, and look what will happen.

the exact value of the resistor is not critical but i recommend you to keep in the 500-1k ohm, your cap should come with a resistor for charging.
    Use this one http://www.action-electronics.com/resist1w.htm
