What amp for two 12" Kappa Perfects?

What specific amp should I get to power my two 12" kappa perfect subwoofers? I'd like them to have a pretty solid hit , but I dont need to go crazy with the amp.

So, honestly, what kind of amp (wattage channel ohms all that) will I need to get these babies jumping?

Thanks! You guys have helped me a lot, and I can't wait to install all of this stuff!

might want to try an amp that has the same RMS as the kappas.

can you give some specs like impedance, recommended wattage and budget?

1600 watt max, 400 watt recommended rms (I've also read 300 other areas? I'd probably go with 400)
    4 ohm(s) nominal impedence

Budget of like 100-300, nothing outrageous...

you'll need a an amp that can produce 600-800 watts @ 2 ohms. check out the elemental designs website, i think they have something in your pricerange that would fit the bill nicely

and 800+ watts at 2ohm will run 2 subs?

Do I need to be able to channel or anything like that? Like, what exactly will I need in the amp to be able to power both of the subs?

i'm not sure what you mean by 'be able to channel'
you can power as many subs as you want off of 1 set of channels, if that is what you're inquiring about. you just have to know how to wire them to get the impedance (ohm load) that the amp can handle

what you need to look for is:
if you are looking at a mono amp (1 chan) it has to be 2 ohm stable and around 800+ watts at 2 ohms.

if you're getting a two chan amp:
you'll want to find something that is 400+ watts per chan @ 4 ohms

your best bet is to find a mono class d amp that is 2 ohm stable (i.e 800 wrms x1 @ 2ohms). it's cheaper then a two chan class a/b that would have the same power (i.e. 400 wrms x2 @ 4ohms).

just to be clear... the subs are single 4 ohm voice coils? or dual 4 ohm voice coils?

do you have a model #

this is how you'd wire it if it were two single voice coil 4 ohm subs being powered by a mono amp @ 2ohms:
