Can you tell us exactly how your kenwood head unit was hooked up? Perhaps a picture? A picture of the working kenwood wiring would be very helpful.

Switching the outputs of lilliput, front to back, is a good idea. Go ahead and try that and tell us what happens.

thanks i will try that tomorrow, maybe i will start with switching the front speaker to the back, what do you think? will this make any difference or reversing the wiring on my kenwood deck and see what it does, is this gonna damage my car speakers or amp?

I wouldn't worry about switching anything on the kenwood deck. Just switch the outputs of the lilliput front to rear, and rear to front. The front and rear outputs should be identical, so there's nothing to worry about. Try that and get back to us. Also a picture or a really good explanation of your kenwood wiring would be great.

    Peace.

    Just a quick guess here...

Did you connect the remote turn-on signal..?? It should be a blue wire from the radio, and also one on the adapter.. I installed a Pioneer in my friends CL using the stock amplifier, I assumed the stock amp worked by ignition, but it was controlled by the turn on.. You have remember that aftermarket companies make OEM radios, hehe... Your Kenwood probably has the blue wire connected and that is why it works..

    Lataz...

good point jbeckford1 but i checked the kenwood deck and im sure the blue wires were never connected. i am thinking that maybe the rear outputs from the lilliput are busted? is there a way to figure that out like a fuse or something? or do you have to crack it open?

    ok i tried all possibilities,

#1 got my kenwood deck, interchange the front and rear speaker connections, it worked fine, remote turn on was not used.

#2 got my lilliput, interchange the front and rear speaker connections, when i play with the balance and fade, i figured that the rear outputs from the lilliput works (a relief) but again i dont get any sound or signal going to my rear speakers. lilliput does not have remote turnon wire. what the heck will i do now?

#3 i took out the front speakers and hooked them in the back, they did not respond.

all of my speakers work coz i used a battery to test them and they all popped. why is it i dont get any sound going to my rear?

    kenwood is 50wx4
    lilliput is 45wx4

Hmm. I don't understand why 1 headunit (kenwood) would work and another (Lilliput) would not. Are you sure that the speaker connections on the lilliput are connected exactly the same as your kenwood (positive and negative) and that the blue amp turn-on wire (also called "remote" or "power antenna") is not connected on your kenwood?

If it is still not working I would suggest bypassing the factory amplifier.

    Good Luck.

yes i spent an insane amount of time making sure all connections are correct. yes the remote on is not and was never connected to the kenwood deck, i tried all again today, i went to circuit city thinking of getting it rewired, the guy there was nice enough to analyze the situation, we plugged in the kenwood and all speakers work, we plugged in the lilliput and the rear speakers dont work. he did not recommended a re-wire so i went back home. he used a little gadget to test the speaker response, the gadget beeped for the front speakers but not for the rear speakers. right now im out of options, i dont have any other deck to test the speakers. how do i bypass the rear amp? is it as simple as running 2 sets of wires, connecting the (rear + & -) of the deck to the (+ & -) of the rear speakers? i think i can do that, what kind of speaker wires would be good for this so i dont get any humming? thanks

Yup, thats the easiest way. 18 - 22 gauge is fine, just make sure you properly wire + to + and - to - on both speakers. Also make sure not to screw into the wires or pinch them. Hide the wires, I dont want to see them dangling!

i found a manual online that shows the stock wiring, i was thinking on tapping from the existing wires just bypassing the amp, will this do it also instead of running new wires? another theory that i have when i saw the wiring diagram is maybe the kenwood deck was powerful enough to run the rear speakers without the stock amp and the lilliput was not, maybe the amp was busted afterall? is there a way to install a small amplifier to replace the stock one? like if i find the rear speaker wires going to the amp, use those to connect to a different amp then from the amp to the rear speakers? i know there is power coming to the amp coz i tested and found 12v power there. any other suggestions before i start breaking my cars audio system? thanks a lot.
