Laptop in car (Center speaker = Home theather or bridged stereo?)
Laptop (stereo output) -> casette adapter -> head unit = 4 speakers only.
I have these 2 options to get a center channel working:
1. Install the 5.1 home theather in the car (works fine with 12v from battery)
a) using the the 5 included speakers + sub-woofer, or
b) using the 4 car internal speakers + the center speaker and the sub-woofer of the home theather.
c) using the preamp output of the headunit with the home theather decoder.
Using (a) option, I will bypass the head unit completely, and i will get all the audio from the home theather speakers
Using (b) option, I will bypass the head untit completely, but I will use the 4 car internal speakers, and center and subwoofer from home theather speakers.
using (c) option i will control the volume of the home theather with the volume control of the head unit.
2. Forget the previous option #1:
Installing the center speaker of the home theather in the center of the dashboard and connecting the positive wire of the center speaker with the positive wire of the left speaker of the head unit and the negative wire of the center speaker with the negative wire of the right speaker.
Note: i know that I will not get 5.1 with option #2 because I am not using the home theather decoder and/or the sub-woofer, but im really interested in the center channel only, furthermore, the home theather decoder box upmix the stereo signal to the center channel, so i think that i will get the same upmix bridging the left and right speaker with the center speaker, so i will appreciate your suggestions.
Note #2: I will be glad to hear suggestions of where to place the home theather decoder box and the subwoofer on a Toyota Corolla.
Note #3: USB Audigy is not an option.
