well....basically the main fuse should be the addition of all your smaller amps...ie if one amp is 20 the next is 30 and the last is 15 the main should be around 65 amps....

if the distro block has fuses that are less then the component it runs its gunna blow.....

and thats basically how it works....

and see if others have the same problem...

another person is telling me my problem is that the jl audio 500/1 uses 50amps to 100 amps when the base hits real hard..............and he said to just replace the 50 amp fuse at my distribution block with a 100a fuse...........im scared to though because the owners manual says to use a 50 amp fuse????????im confused so i come to you for help....thanks...

An amp with the proper fuse from the manual will NOT pull more than that value. If the manual says 50A put that fuse in, no more. If the fuse is 50A there is NO way it will pull more than that unless its broken

i blew another fuse today...................it seems every time a fuse goes is when i have the base all the way up and the volume pretty high too...........is it possible that the amp is blowing fuses because i am trying to push it tooo hard...............because that is the only time the fuse blows.....................maybe because the sub im using is 1000 wats rms and the amp im using only puts out 500 watts is that possible tell me what you guys think thanks again./....

You need to learn how to set your gains. If you have the bass all the way up, then you are not following the rules. You need to learn about distortion and overdriving. Please search on these topics as they have been covered over and over.

The fact that you have a 1000 watt sub and a 500 watt amp means nothing. You can still blow up that subwoofer easily.
