possible system build, suggestions?

so im gonna upgrade my factory system and been lookin around, at first i was gonna go all sony. However after talking with a few ppl that know this stuff, i decided to go with pioneer with alpine as a secondary manufacturer. So all Pioneer heres the system:

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6800MP

Front Speakers: also unsure (need to figure out what size i can fit in there, if your wondering i have a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT)

any suggestions anybody? and does any1 have any/all of these? If you do own any of it how do you like it?

question for you...what's your budget....there is ALOT better equipment out there....what i would recommend is for the radio look for an Eclipse....for the amps, stick w/ eclipse, for subs, Elemental Designs, Resonant Engineering, Eclipse, or...for boomy loud bass...Kicker i guess. For the speakers, i like Polk, Morel, Kicker, etc etc....but i'm assuming you want to stick to one brand for everything? If that's so, get Eclipse everything.

I'm sorry Lax, but that's one of the useless recommendations I've mentioned before.

at this level, this guy will be perfectly happy with Pioneer.

Telling him to go completely different because it's what YOU like isn't good advice.

i liked the 6800 too, i would have gotten that hu, but a deal came up and i went with a kenwood ez500 due to looks matching my car...this might sound stupid, but i printed out pictures of everything in color and taped it in the spots to get a general idea of how good it looks.

That is a great suggestion, even for design/placement in multiple DIN units. That way you can see where buttons will end up and how easy/difficult it will be to operate and see while driving. Good idea.

Are you planning on running your left and right speaker pairs paralleled to one amp or are you buying an amp for each? If it's an amp per pair, that amp you linked to is WAY too big for that. If not, good deal

You also said you got 6.5" speakers but say you're unsure of what you're using in the front. Where are you putting the 6.5s?

Well i went to BB and played with the Pioneer head unit.... hated it, the knob is too stiff, bad interface, basically hated it lol

gonna take a look at eclipse HU's, and kicker speakers..... the pioneer speakers are decent, but i saw on CC website the kicker's and liked their look (unfortunately the nearest CC is 15 mi from me now.... they closed the one like 3 mi away... blah). Im also gonna look at eclipse speakers while im at it.

thx for the suggestion about printing out 1:1 and taping it in.... great idea actually lol

I have 6 speaker mounts in my car from factory, two 6x9's in rear, two 6.5's on the front doors, and two 3.5's on front dash (up by the windshield on top of the dash)

Thx for all the input guys. My budget is $500 maximum for head unit, two 6x9's, two 6.5's and an amp for sure, but if possible two 3.5's also.

You're wanting to get all of that for $500? A good head unit will cost half of that. After that you'll have enough money for a GOOD set of components for the front. Don't bother replacing the 3.5s at all and leave the 6x9s to upgrade last. I haven't had rear speakers in 6 years and I don't miss 'em at all.
