RE XXX Subs Amp Strapping Howto? 1Ohm?

Hi Guys, Hopefully some one has done this in the past , I have two Caliber 2000D Amps and 2 x RE XXX Subs 2ohm Dual Voice Coil It says for amp strapping 2ohms minimum impedance for CA2000D Plus when strapped does this meen I cant goto one Ohms on each sub? I currently run with one amp at one Ohm for both subs. But I want more power so Strapping amps seems like a valid Idea the amp specs are
    2 Ohms 750W RMS
    1 Ohms 1250W RMS

Each sub is rated at 1400 W RMS so you can see why I would want one ohm through each of the subs.

    Any Ideas?

    hu!?

    amp strapping?

    what is that?

and I'm not understanding your post very well either. Possibly try hitting the enter key to separate your thoughts and maybe using punctuation?

btw - I hope you've beefed up the rest of your electrical system.

    Bridging amps, perhaps?
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Sorry About some of my posts I have a tendancy to rush things -
Hmmm I have a yellow top Optima, May need a HO Alternator soon
120A electrical Draw at the moment.

Amp Strapping - Some amps are capable of being strapped together to provide twice the power. Only like models can be strapped together.

you may even consider using multiple batteries

ok - now I understand what you mean by amp strapping, must be a European term..lol

many amps out there now can be linked together to provide enough power to arc weld with....lovely stuff really.

from reading the owners manual, it sounds like you can't get 1ohm out of the two amps linked together.

1 ohm stable as an individual amp, but no less than 2 ohm when linked.

the amps are 1 ohm stable.

Your subs can be wired up to be a 1 ohm load.

why do you need to link the two amps to get enough power when the amps put out 1250 watts at 1 ohm?

It says minimum 2ohms so would 1Ohm be less than that or would the minumim of 2ohms be 4ohms bloody confusing!

Extra batteries are just a suggestion. Arguable additional batteries are more efficient than caps. Sometimes cheaper than a whole rack of caps
