Umm, your subs shouldn't have a 6V signal going to them. You mean your amps had a 6V signal input voltage?

sometimes if you don't take your subs slow for the first few weeks after install they mess up. i bought some new and pumped them out the roof and haha they had no chance
yeah, thats why i'm takin em steady, i don't wanna blow them up before ive started
speakers are mechanical devices they do require break in just like any other mechanical device.

ok i know the smell. i was in a friends car and its because they are overheating in the trunk. try not to run them as long in the heat. 20 minutes at a complete max! i only run mine 10 minutes at a time in this summer heat
scottsenia - it all depends on your equipment, making a blanket statement like 20 minutes max isn't an educated statement.

hahahahaha, it would now transpire that the smell coming from my subs, wasn't coming from my subs, it was the amp cooking itself from the inside, bummer![]()
Figures; you shouldn't be able to smell a burning voice coil from inside a truly sealed box.
Are you saying sealed and unported? If so, I suppose, but if you mean ported (which I am presuming you do) I believe that is not correct. Even in my PC speaker system when I crank up my sub (200 RMS 10") I can smell it, but problem-free going on 3 years now.Originally Posted by furball69
