    S10 sound system

Just replaced my dash 4x6's with some Pioneers. Made a great difference, but now I need to replace my 4x10's behind the seat. Any suggestions?
Also, I am wanting to install a sub in the long run, but do they make a quality unit that is also compact enough to fit behind my seat? (Standard cab...) If not, what is the best way to go for a sub in the standard cab?
    Thanks!

Don't bother replacing those speakers. They're at least $100 for anything decent(retail) and they sound crappy still. Your best bet for good sound is to get a component set and put the mids in the doors and replace the dash speakers with the tweeters (eventually). Your best bet for a sub is a custom built box. I put 4 10s in my brother's regular cab Ranger. Replace your stock bench with buckets from an Integra and you'll gain legroom and you can move the passenger seat up a little to fit a bigger box back there.

There is a universal 4x10" to 6x9" adapter by scosche, part # SA41069, that may or may not work for your application. I'm not making any promices. I've never used them b4

It won't work as there's no room to bottom mount them. Those work in the fullsize sedans like the Caprice.

I figured a custom box would be my best bet. As for the 4x10's, anything is better than what I have. They are ****. (One is blown) I found some Pioneers for $80, good deal? As for the subs and box, what would be my best bet for keeping my stock benchseat?

Forget the 4x10s, you'll never hear them with a sub. Just disconnect them and take them out. For the sub, you need a shallow mounting subwoofer. From what I remember working at CC and BB, there's not a whole lot on the retail scene that will help you out. How tall are you?

    mount em in the roof!

i've seen a lot done in s10's .. i used to own one myself, a 96 extended cab 4x4, but if you drop the subs low enough in the box and dont get anything MASSIVE you should be able to find enough space back there to get 2 subs and an amp, im 5'7 so im guessin' your seats not all the way back [esp. if its a 5speed]

JL makes a 6.5" sub, so does eD. RE makes a killer little 8" sub too. You could probably get 6-8 8s behind there no problem if you're a basshead.
