'nuff said Scott. Maybe Shadow would like to replace all the caps inside his amps with itty-bitty batteries to prove his point. ;-)

    Post pics, please!

    http://www.bcae1.com/wire.htm

    A true 0 awg = .3235 in wide

    4 awg = .2038 in wide

0 awg is 2.519649958 times larger physically than 4 awg. 3 4 awg FTW if you've got 'em.

Of course, most wire sold in the US is listed as 0 gauge Technically speaking, awg refers to the American Wire Gauge which is a standard, to claim it and not actually have the correct cross-sectional area of wire can get you in trouble. However, if it just says 0 gauge, 4 gauge, it really doesn't matter how much copper is in it.

An excellent example is Raptor cables...their 0 gauge is really a little bigger than a normal 4 gauge wire w/ a huge plastic jacket to take up the rest of the space.

Also, strand count depends on the size of the individual strands. Welding cable uses much thicker wires and loses some flexibility. Our wire = 4459 strands in the 0 awg wire(yeah, I used awg, because it does meet standards) Knukonceptz is at 5145 for their Kolossus Kable.

erm, i guess people didn't understand what i was referring to. I meant 0/1ga is PHYSICALLY smaller than 3 4ga links, because earlier in the thread he had noted that he couldn't fit 0/1 gauge around his car, vs his 3 4ga runs. I was just trying to tell him that 3 4ga wires w/ the shielding and whatnot is actually larger than a single run of 0/1 and the 0/1 ga is of comparable standards than his 4ga is at right now.

ah this is true lax .. but its much easier to bend 3 runs of 4awg, and hide it in the carpet/molding ... whereas the single run of 1/0awg would not have much give to it, and give is something ya need in this blazer ...

    sry for the confusion
