Thread: focal versus audison? whos better?

Hi guys, this is going to be my first post on this forum since i just joined 1minute ago. I am the distributor for Focal, SEAS, Steg, Sinfoni, Genesis, Audio System and Cascade here in the Philippines. I am an old fanatic of Audison as well but they required too much of a volume I couldn't carry them. It is after that where I found STEG. I got STEG because of their company culture and the way they handle and process things. I have never heard their amp when I placed my first order and when I got them, It was one of the happiest moments in my life. (deep inside I was reliefed because Im glad I didn't choose the wrong product). It had big scale, powerful sweet sound and does not cut off like the old Audisons do. Of course it had its drawbacks as well but I believe every product have. Which is better? Audison or STEG, its really a matter of preference...as for me, I like STEG better, despite the listening position is more upclose in my case...QM series. But who knows, when Audison comes up with something new and better...I might prefer them again....we just have to be fair to each product. If I don't like it...it doesn't mean its bad. I mean if there is a really better amp than the other...than I will be put in a situation where I have to lie everyday....STEG, GENESIS, FOCAL, SINFONI...etc.

As for the FOCAL amp issue...and based on my several doubtful acts on FOCAL, I have to say they just did a great job again. Despite that they are made in Korea...and not ashamed to say.....and their Access1 is assembled in China...so what...and most of your mobile phones as well. What is important is how a manufacturer put passion and effort to develop a product and make sure what comes out is how they want it to be. An asian myself...I have doubts on China and Korean products...I have lived in China for 3 years. But you can also see really good quality China products. Its just the majority of the manufacturers produce poor product, it doesn't mean none of them can produce excellent ones. Do you know they have a Robert Mondavi bottling plant their for the Woodbridge wines? And alot of the manufacturing plants there could be set up by the French, Americans or Japanese with expat quality controllers. It is those that doesn't have that have inconsistency in products. After listening to the Focal amps I have brought in...and base on consumer response...they are great amps and they don't really care if it is from Korea....because the product made them believe in Focal again.

I can relate to Red's comments and passion in pushing the product she likes. I do the same...even though I am a distributor. I am not pushing the products I carry...but I want to carry and push the products I like.

Haha! Maybe!!! Thinking of using a Dual Monitor with an be active no.7 plus the new uni-Q crossover for a new demo car. Red, just wondering if you can recommend anyone we can send overhere to the Philippines to give a seminar on installing Focal products? Oh, and thanks for the welcoming!!!
