    Need help with RCA jacks

I just bought an amp and two subwoofers for my parents truck, it is a 2001 Siverado with a factory cd player, i need to know if they have RCA jacks for the amp and if not what can i do?

Pretty much no factory system has RCA connectors. You'll need to get a line out converter and connect it to the rear speaker leads behind the deck. You'll also be able to connect the remote turn on lead for the amp to the accessory wire back there too.

moved to the car audio forum since it's about car audio.

btw - Navarro - this forum is dedicated to putting carPCs in our cars. Since your question is geared towards strictly car audio, I'm going to suggest that you find a dedicated car audio forum. it's not that you won't find your answers here, it's that you're more likely to find your answers there and to find them quicker.

    Good luck.

If you look on the front of an aftermarket deck, it'll say something like 52x4 meaning it's 52 watts per channel on 4 channels. So the total deck output power is 208 watts. You need to check your vehicle's manual to find out how many watts per channel is the stock stereo.

Maheriano - you're only partially correct.

Those are the MAX power ratings. Those are also numbers that you will NEVER see out of a head unit.

If you look at the specs on the HU you will notice that those numbers often correspond with the max numbers in the manual. You should look for the RMS numbers instead.

NAVARRO_X4, The line out converters are cheap and will add unwanted sound, Mostly for door speakers. But for subs, it's a hit or miss. What sound system package did your parents get with the truck? Remember, you get what you pay for!

The only other option for the guy is to get an entirely new head unit.

There's a really good chance that that is out of his and/or his parents price range.
