Greetings. Everyone here seems to be really knowledgible so I figured I would pick your brains.
I have an Alpine DVA-9861 HU that I am using. Everything on it is GREAT, except...
When playing an MP3 DVD or CD, the ID3 tag information sometimes doesn't show on the HU's display. Sometimes on the same song it will. And, when it is not showing, turning the HU off and back on results in the information being displayed.
To check a theory, I connected an external monitor to the HU and the ID3 information displayed perfectly on the display, but on the HU, it shows up as if the ID3 information is missing.
Here are some pics so you can see what I am talking about...

Sometimes it just shows an empty album name as in pic 0565, but other times it will show missing information in all three fields.
It appears that it is reading the MP3 tag correctly, and works fine with IPOD and CD Changer, just not on the internal disk.
I reset the unit and it will work fine for about 2 days and this starts happenong again. This happens on any MP3 disk (CD or DVD) placed into the HU's internal disk reader.
Am I the only one having this problem, or has someone else had the same (or similar) problem and has found a resolution? I'm not fond of shipping this unit back to Alpine and be without tunes for 2 weeks as I drive 8+ hours a day...
I also hope that I'm not posting this in the wrong forum, it seemed the closest one to what I was needing.
Thank you all VERY much in advance.

PROGRESS:
[-------90%-] (New Car=New Build)
The only thing I can think is to check the specs to see what ID3 tag the unit is looking for (ID3v1 or v2). Maybe it can only read v1 and for some reason is sometimes making a v1 tag out of a v2 tag. I have an Eclipse unit that will sometimes play my MP3 cd's and sometimes it won't. I found out from Eclipse that I needed to burn the cd's at a lower ISO level than I was. Sometimes the player could handle it and sometimes not... It was weird.
Good Luck
Disker, I just got the same headunit and I'm trying to hook up the video to my Lilliput composite input, but it doesn't see the signal. Did you hook up either of the remote output lead (white/brown) or monitor control leads (white/pink)? If so, what did you connect them to (ground, +12v,???)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

More on my Ride
I just plugged the composite output lead (yellow RCA) into the RCA video input on my lcd screen. Neither the white/pink nor the white/brown are connected. The only output you will get from this unit is either when playing a DVD movie, or playing a CD or MP3 CD/DVD.
Hope this helps.
