Guys,
I've just installed an Alpine CDA 9852RR so I can use the AUX channel as a feed from my laptop but the volume is fixed and even though the rotary knob changes the volume loudness number nothing happens. Any ideas??
No, I got the Sony CDX-GT805DX that had a jack for a remote and a PAC SWI-PS remote unit. Stock pics in my worklog. Finishing install today (I hope).

The same happens on my Sony CDX-GT805DX. I am using the volume controls on the PC until I have time to RTFM and see if it can be controled from the head unit.
My Alpine works just dandy CDA 9813.
Solved the problem,
there is a tiny dip switch on the belly of the unit which has 2 settings either, norm or ai-net.
I changed it back to norm and the volume problem was fixed.
And mine was just me being a dumbass and feeling behind the radiowhen I plugged in the computer instead of actually looking. I pluged it in the wrong RCA ports. Volume controls work great now. I do have a slight inductive hum that I need to isolate... The fun never ends.
