Angry Just installed Avic-Z1 in e46, now no AC...

    Greetings all.

I just installed the Pioneer Avic-Z1 into my '05 325i. Unit works, car runs, lights go....just no AC (or vents) now. I followed the DIYs and moved the AC controls to the lower position and fabbed a new casing for the HVAC unit.

The AC controls are hooked up (lights on) but no air comes out. Also, air doesn't work when just vents are on. By "not working" I mean there's no sound or feeling of moving air anywhere.

I'm not sure if it's wiring, the housing, or something else entirely.

    Any ideas?

    Sure, contact Pioneer and/or go to BMWForums.com and/or http://www.roadfly.com/bmw/forums/

This is neither an Avic or BMW forum. But, my guess is a wiring issue. Nothing else makes sense. Check em all again, and then recheck em, and check em again.

True, this site is not only for BMW or Pioneer, but this is a car-modding/electronics site. After all, there is a walkthrough for the very install I performed.

    Anyone else have an idea?

That is where you are wrong. This is not a "car-modding/electronics site" This is a carputer forum, and all things related. Since an AVIC is not related to a carputer, it is not relevant to this site.

What "walkthrough" are you refering to?

My mistake. I've been perusing too many tech/car forums.

Moot point really, as I figured out the problem.

    Hey, so my suggestion helped.

Guess this should be an AVIC/BMW forum afterall

There is a chance that someone on here might have an answer for you, I would just hate for you to wait around for it when I know you could get an answer much quicker on a dedicated forum.

    Good luck.
