optima or compatible battery how long car off

Hi all,
Just was wondering is someone could give me a estimate time on how long I could run my carputer & amps with my car off with my optima yellow top.Just say a have the volume cranking and pulling about 3000 watts (amps are 3300 watts total) plus the inverter for the carputer.

I know I will not have it at full volume but just was wondering if I was at 3000 watts what time am I looking at?
Are we looking at minutes or 1 hour etc..

would completely depend on what kinda computer youre using.

Shuttle pc with amd 2400 3.5 hard drive 7200 rpm etc power supply is 240 max inverter is 400 watt max.

(I was including the 3000 watt reference including the pc)

Well if you go by my 3000 watt example. 3000 watts into 12v = 250 it would be about 250 amps.

sorry, wattage claims from amp manufacturers are usually all over the place. I wasn't going to assume that the figures were accurate.

10 to 1 this is peak power, NOT RMS, give us RMS specs with listing your car audio system. Peak doesn't mean anything.

Regarding how long...

I had a Stinger SP1700 battery in my car running a US-2000 amplifier (that's 2000watts RMS, NOT PEAK mind you) and I ran it for 4 hours with the car off, at about 90% volume to burn in the speakers (4 12" Eclipse 8700s).

Should give you an idea. However, this was a new battery as well with proper wiring, etc.

Older batteries will vary as well.

And seeing how he's using a deep cycle battery, it'll depend on when the thing was cycled last.

yes it is "RMS" I have 2500 "RMS" to the subs 400 rms to the components (100 rms each) plus the carputer.

It is a newer yellow top about 6 month old.

I know the manufactures inflate the ratings but that it what it is "supposed to be) LOL
