you'll get a performance gain by hooking it up to a good 50 watt rms amp but don't expect miracles, that shape is a horrible format for a speaker cone.
the power handling of those speakers are probably around 20 wrms anyways.
i have a set of 4x10 speakers i just got for my s-10 standard cab they are pyramid 300 watt max speakers and i hooked them up to my sony explode head unit and when i turn them up to about 28-30 they start to distort my question is will i get a proformance gain by hooking them up to a 250x4 watt amp i also plan on getting speakers for the front in a 300 watt rating

so should i spend the money for a bigger amp or not bother
your best option would be to get some kick pod speakers (a nice 6.5" component set) and delete the rear speakers. then get a nice amp to power them.
