4 channel amp CLIPS when external 5.1 processor turns on during computer startup

I have a problem with my phillips 5.1 processor. While the computer is booting up, it turns on the phillips processor and that in turn sends a popping noise through my speakers. I need to get rid of it. It only happens during startup, I can turn the processor on and off with a button otherwise and nothing happens.

PS: processor is self powered through USB.

you need to hoop up the amp to a delayed startup so that you don't get startup thump... as there is no way to kill the thump signal coming from the processor booting up in general, just ways to block it.. like delaying amp turn on or switching the signal lines off while the pc boots.

Depending on the psu your using for the carputer (so long as it is a dc to dc like the matx, etc) there should be a remote amp line on the psu with a delayed turn on for this sole purpose.

thanks, Ill look into finding a line that is powered once the unit is almost done booting up. What portion of the Powersuply should i look at. The reason I dont wanna just put a relay on it is because I may want to turn on the computer when the car is off.

What killa200 said is correct. If you PSU doesn't have a delayed turn on just use one of the 12v outputs from your PSU to start a timer circuit. Set the timer curcuit to switch a relay on to turn on your amps just before windows has finished loading.
