need alittle help with SPDIF

Okay I got a sp1300 with SPDIF which i wanted to run to the Add51t from Audiobahn then send that to my amps. I have tried everything to get this to work (including calling Mp3car) i dont know whats up Its like i cant get the Spdif to come on.
what ive tried
the jumper on the motherboard
spdif set in a advance windows sound setting and the driver program.

from what i read im not soposed to get sound from the phono jacks when spdif is on and no matter what i do i keep getting sound out.. anyideas ?

you have to update your drivers and install a couple other things

So wait I have to have a converter ??? why cant i just run the rca??

you only need the converter if your processor only has optical in. otherwise everything else should be get you up and running

aight so im confused.. I followed your advice and im still left with nothing... The RCA spdif output goes to the RCA input of the add51t. thats exactly how its hocked up am i missing something here is there anyone that has this installed and how did you get this to work... SHould i just bit the bullet and by the 30 dollar sound card and run optical
