Yes, I know all about reflections. To start off with I will give you a little on the dash. He designed it smaller than a factory dash probably to get better imaging from the kick panels, but he was still 1st in his class for years with the factory dash and door panels in.. As for the console...it is flat on both sides. Doesn't look to me as if it has any "special" characteristics about it. Plus it is a slick painted surface, it is much more likely to reflect a sound than something covered in a material. Most people don't paint things when doing sq. He enters the car in car shows as well so that has alot to do with the fiberglass dash, door panels, console, trunk, rear seat area. I mean...he has 2 15" subs in the back with a 6000 watt amp on them. He uses a 10 or a 12 hidden behind the dash for his sub bass when doing sq and the 15's when he just wants everything loud for "show". What I was getting at is that the 2 15" subs, a 6000 watt amp, a complete fiberglass woofer box in the rear, and fiberglass trunk have nothing to do with how this car sounds. In sound q mode everything is coming from the front of the vehicle.

Never mind the fact that the guys that did the paint are his buddies....
If I'm not mistaken, JBL paid him to build his car...Plus here again...he did the work himself so he has time but not money tied up in it.
His dash has a LOT to do with how his car sounds. Same with the console. Knowing where to have dead spots and where to create reflections will change the stage of a car DRAMATICALLY. ANYTHING inside of the cabin of the car will change the way it sounds. Knowing how to tune to work around those dead spots and reflections is just another part of the art.Anyway the fiberglass dash, console, and whole rear end of the car have nothing to do with how the car sounds. The only fiberglass things that matter are his kick panels and sub box.
If you are ever in the area for one of the shows that we attend, you are more than welcome to listen to my car. I'll be in Kansas City, MO for the USACi world finals the weekend before Thanksgiving. If you happen to make it up there, you're more than welcome to listen to my car. I'm sure I'd also be able to get my team mates to open their cars up for you and possibly have a listen.Anyway...having said all of that I think I am through with this post. Thanks for the help everyone.

If I were you, I'd read alot more on SQ. and when you're at the point of realy understanding how everything works, THEN look for some tweeters. 'cause now, in my opinion you'll get dissapointed and like most of them guys who barely know what they're doing, will blame it on the speakers....
