    Why audiobahn is crap

    http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/Audiobahn_A1500HCQ/

1x2000 with that much empty space and two itty bitty teeny weenie caps on the power side?

    I think not.

    2x2000: http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/Autotek_MM4000.1D/

    I think so.

well.... we all know audiobahn is crap. but the inside of an amp isn't everything.

    for instance :

this is the inside of an ETON PA1502... pretty empty i'd say, BUT, that's only because there are other technologies being used than normal (smd it was called, i think?)

have to admit, the caps are pretty small on this one too though, but than again, it outputs only 660watts if i'm not mistaken.

well clearly, the way to improve things is to go to an electronics surplus place, buy a cheap grab bag of parts, and shovel them in to fill all that empty space
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:

You mean all the extra chrome flames don't make it sound better? I would think they would add at least an extra 1000watts to the output.

now we know where the saying "she's smoking hot" comes from

we have a winner too: bought a McIntosh MC427 today and tomorrow I'm gonna pick up a MC420m. all that for €700. the 427 was a demo, the 420m is brand new, in the box. (yes indeed, never touched in all those years!!!!!!
