    Audio Overhaul

    Now that I make a decent amount of money, I'm re-doing the audio hardware side of my install. I've come up with some components im thinking of purchasing, and would like some opinions or what not about them.

    I have an Alpine MRP-F240 (4x40 wrms output into 4 ohms) powering a pair of kenwood 6.5s with stock 6.5s in the rear.
    and a Boss BX35 3-way crossover (4.1 input high/low passes)
    and an Audiobahn a8000t (mono 800 wrms into 2 ohms)
    and an Audiobahn AW1500q 15" sub, 800 watts rms

    I'm considering buying two new MA Audio MA800XL 8" subs to serve as mid-basses
    and a Kenwood KAC-9152D to power them (900 wrms into 1 ohm)
    and a KENWOOD KAC-8452 to replace my alpine amp (4x70 wrms into 4 ohms)
    As well as a new set of 6.5s that i dont have a link to (they're infinitys)

    Comments, suggestions appreciated!

    Very helpful post from someone who is apparently without any intelligence of their own. Good job repeating what many others say, with no experience with the products they are claiming to know about.
    what's your budget?
    Well I was aiming to spend around 500$, which usually means anywhere from 500-650$

    I've had the Audiobahn A8000T for a while now.
    It's paired with the Audiobahn AW1206T Subwoofer -- 12", 1,100W RMS.
    Be careful when adjusting the input sensitivity on that amp -- don't be greedy!

    Also, in your link to the A8000T, the seller offers "Full Warranty."
    Find out what that means. Ask if they're an authorized retailer.

    Finally, the KAC-9152D listing doesn't make much sense...
    # RMS Power Handling:

    * 500 watts x 1 chan. @ 4 ohms
    * 900 watts x 1 chan. @ 2 ohms
    * 900 watts x 1 chan. @ 1 ohm
    900WRMS at both 1Ω and 2Ω? Really?
    For Sale: Carputer (CarPC) & RCA Y-Adapter
    Newsflash: Take a look at my unsold stuff above, thanks!
    Up Next: Make an OBD to Serial cable & Redo the "MMI buttons"

    Boss is made by King Audio. They're behind some of the worst stuff on the audio market.

    MA, Audiobahn, Alphasonik, and a couple more are all made by the same company. They use low quality materials and charge a good bit more for their equipment.

    There's MUCH better stuff out there.

    Are you using your computer as your source unit or are you running it through a head unit of some sort?

    I'd recommend looking into a higher-quality crossover. That will make a huge improvement in system sound and balance. The Audiocontrol 6XS will do what you need and give you room for expansion.

    You had the right idea with your first Alpine amp. That's a good reliable amp and I'd recommend the MRP and MRD lines from them highly.

    Those 8s are REALLY deep for an 8" subwoofer. Where were you planning on putting those?

    Don't comment on my experience when you know nothing about it. I didn't feel I had to give an explanation as to why its crap because if you scroll down a little you can read the "Why Audiobahn is crap" thread. I was letting you know that the others are in the same category.

    If you know "what many other say" about them then why did you even ask. My post was short because when you answer the same question over and over again you get tired of explaining it in detail every time.

    Just for a bit of clarification I already own these items. I've had the a8000t for years, and it has worked great. I also got it for very cheap <200$ and the sub aw1500q for less than 75$

    Finally, the KAC-9152D listing doesn't make much sense...
    Thank you for pointing that out, i missed that before. I'll bet thats a typo, i was already fairly skeptical about it being 1 ohm stable

    I have a computer, a pci audigy 2 with 3.5mm to dual rca cables ran to my boss crossover and then from there to my alpine four channel and my a8000t the soundcard has maybe 1/2 volt outputs at most hence why its ran through the (i know cheap) boss crossover

    Those 8s are REALLY deep for an 8" subwoofer. Where were you planning on putting those?
    i have a honda civic sedan, and am planning on mounting them on the rear deck (the area right behind the heads of where the passengers in the back seat would be) next to the rear 6.5s, so there will be plenty of space

    Thanks for all of the helpful comments/suggestions

    audiobahn is a terrible amp. It looks good on paper, but the power is dirty. Sending that kind of power to your equipment will wear it down quicker. Plus, the sound quality on audiobahns are simply not the best.

    Boss is just as bad.
