Thread: ? DVC coils cant wire

thanks the kicker says 2ohms on it so is mine d vc 2ohm x 4load or dvc 2ohm x 1load

ok wire the voice coils in series and then the remaining leads of each speaker in parrallel.what one is that, it has 2 wire hook-ups on 1 wire hook-up it has a white dot on the + and a white dot on the -. the other one just has red and black man iam so lost.

You can not run a 2ch amp at 2ohm, because it will run each channel at 1ohm, and your amp is not able to run that load. You will need a mono amp to put them at 2ohm

The only way to run a pair of those subs is to do all connections in series at 8ohm. This will most likely not give you the sound you want.

^^ huh? it will run each channel at 2ohms lol. Oh and he doesn't necessarily need to run the subs at 8ohms because the amp is capable of a 2ohm load last i checked.

Take the + from one coil and attach to the - of the next coil. Then take the remaining + and - and wire directly to Ch. 1 of the amp. Then do the same to the opposing sub. Your amp won't like that very much. The subs themselves i'm assuming you have the CVR 12s? They require 400w RMS @ 4ohms per sub. That sony amp is putting at MOST 300w RMS x 2 @ 2ohms. And that amp will most likely heatup... My recommendation, buy a mono block. Capable of a 2ohm load w/ roughly 800w RMS.
