I just put a JVC KD-G820 into a Nissan with the Bose audio system. Because it has amps on each speaker, I wired in the preamp outputs of the JVC. It sounds fine, works as expected, but...

Whenever I turn on the radio, or more annoyingly, switch inputs, I get a *loud* popping noise.

At first I thought it was the JVC turning on and off the amps, so I wired in a cap to the amp power line. But to my dismay the head unit itself was sending out the loud popping noise, the amp was on solidly. I did not get this popping using the amplified outputs in my other car.

Any solution? Does the JVC just have a crappy preamp output? Did I do something stupid? A pop when I turned it on I could almost forgive, but switching inputs? Thats no good.

Related question... since I am not using the amplified outputs I shoud expect the head to run *much* cooler, yes? I didn't notice any options for turning off the onboard amp in the menus.

Thanks!
