Laptop USB as audio out to HU USB port?

I recently purchased a Kenwood KDC-X590 which has a USB A (F) port that I would like to use as an input for my laptop, so that I can watch DVDs with the sound through my car speakers.

I realize I could use the deck's other AUX input, however I currently have it in use with an iPod dock connector cable.

Is it possible to connect one of my laptop's USB ports to the headunit's USB port with a male-male cable and have it work as an audio connection?

I appreciate any advice and recommendations on what products I might use to accomplish this.

    Thanks,
    --Jim

From what I can see in the manual, that unit is setup to work with audio files on a USB drive. It will not work as an 'audio device' for your laptop. The only HU that I know of that has the capability you're looking for is a Sony with an XA-300 adapter (which goes for $99)

I was afraid of that. I guess I'll just get a different AUX cable or an FM transmitter for my laptop sound.

Thank you for your quick response.

^^ don't go with an FM transmitter... not worth it, go with a dif. Aux Cable, better sound quality
