tell me about it, gone are the good old days of quick and easy wiring. I think I'll put a toggle switch in the center console to turn the amp on and off, the wife doesn't really care to have the sub anyway.

^^ Wrong wiring, that's for pre data line wiring. Hold on, let me see if i have access to the wiring information for the GMOS04

For rem turnon power, the pink line in the ign harness (under dash, should be a larger wire) is switched 12v.

Left Rear + Brown
Left Rear - Yellow

Right Rear + Dark Blue
Right Rear - Light Blue

isn't there also a turn-on right out of the radio for power antenna too that could be used? pretty sure there is.... if you use the pink ign then you'll have no power in accessory or while in rap....

The vehicle in an'05 there is not an option for power ant from factory, so no turn on lead. The way I described a sollution is the easiest.

^^ either way, the ignition line in those cars are huge. Last i checked they're 10ga, i forget but that was a month or two ago. He doesn't need to run a relay, the rem. turnon doesn't draw that much current.

And i meant to tap into the wire, not completely disconnect it

...yeah, but from what I normally find, even if a particular car don't have a power antenna, the radio itself usually does have a terminal, even if theres no lead in the plug... as the same radio can be used in many different models.... don't know about 05's though tbh... but no power antenna option don't always mean the radio has no lead for it...

your way can never be "the best" way, simply because "the best" way wouldn't keep the amp on while the radio is off.... not saying that's terible, but not the best either... the best way will have the amp come on after the radio to avoid turn on pop....

That's what I would like to have, the amp only come on after the radio is turned on. I guess that it wouldn't really matter if it came on as soon as the key is turned on since the radio is rarely turned off, but turn on pop can be annoying.
