set the amp to mono.... there are a BUNCH of different ways to tune your amplifier... I'll give you the easiest option, turn the gain all the way down so you can't hear your subs anymore... Turn your radio up until your speakers start distorting (or sounding like total ***), then turn your radio down so it's at 3/4 full volume. Then turn your subs up until they start distorting, and then turn it down 3/4 of the way...

That's tuning by ear, obviously that's not the ideal way of tuning. But for a novice who isn't looking for much, that's the best way of tuning it. Or you can follow the elemental designs method and download a test tone of 50Hz, play that looped and find the voltage you need for the amp to run at 800w RMS.

Then they're tuning by RTA, that is using a tool that measures certain frequencies and you adjust the subs to make a perfect flat line in the audio spectrum... that's usually professionals... i've personally NEVER done the RTA method before, i prefer using either the test tone or by ear

And btw, you actually should give the type of MTX subs as well...MTX is quite a large company and they DO make quite a few subs...

okay, so with the volume at 50%, turn your amp gain up until the subs start to distort, then turn them down 1/4 the way so that it's 3/4's of the way towards distorting...
