Hi, getting a system for my car finally

I currently have a : http://www.xplodsony.com/xplod/headunits/CDX-GT200 as my headunit. I love it, so it'll be the only stereo piece i'm keeping, looking to get amp, sub, and sealed box, along with 4 speakers to handle.

Wow, i was looking at some stuff to try and get a hang of the watts vs RMS etc... think i see a pretty sweet deal, and it's same brand as my head unit, and seems to be good... 1300 watt / 380 RMS on those subs(x2), 200 RMS amp, and a sealed box

So... for 300$, in a bundle package, i'd get...

    (2) - http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...oid=146679&c=1
    (1) - http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...oid=144142&c=1
    (1) - http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...oid=119724&c=1

That would cover amp, sub, and box, i'd just need speakers! - What watt/RMS should i be looking for speakers to go with this package

And well, is this a good package?? I'm looking for a lot of sound... i blast reggaeton, and if your not familiar with it, BASE IS KEY!! I want to be able to have loud music, w/o crackling etc.

Thanks for any advice you can throw my way. (-:

spend your $ at a car audio shop or elsewhere online. don't give CC your money. all of sony's xplode line is complete crap.

300 doesn't buy you much. don't forget you need to add a wireing kit.
i would honestly save untill you have closer to 500.
maybe get two of these. same price as the explodes and ALOT better. then you just need to find a nice amp. add a 2 or 4guage wiring kit and a sub box and you are right around 500. and you would have a ton and i mean a ton more bass and better bass.

oh and as for new front speakers(forget about the rears trust me) you should decide how much you want to spend. then start looking for brands/reviews. again spending anything under 200 for components isn't worth it. your front speakers and amp should end up costing the same as your subs or more.

    hope this helps.

well to start with i wouldnt even look at sony. clarion/pioneer/kenwood would be a better brand to work with. plus those sony items all advertise pmpo.

in short pmpo means if you were to put that amount of power to a speaker/sub it would blow up. rms is what you should be looking at. rms is the rated power that the speaker was designed to handle.

if you were to look at the kenwood range -
    KAC-6403 amp for your speakers
    KAC-8152D amp for your sub
    KFC-W3514DVC sub
    KFC-P507 speakers (2 sets)

and you could prolly pick all that up for 900us. its a tad more expensive than what you had planned but kenwood products kick ***. plus the bass from the sub is really clear

With the setup i mentioned thats 1000RMS 2000w peak for your subs. that will be VERY loud. as a compairison your internal front speakers are getting 14wRMS from your stock head unit. or possibly even less.

one thing i'v learned about car audio. do it once and do it right. otherwise you'll be upgrading forever and ripping yourself off. it's better to hold off save up more and buy the higher end stuff because 1 it will last longer and 2 you'll keep it longer because you will not feel the need to upgrade because you know your components of your audio system are of high grade and quality....yeah

    buy this sub...

Yeah, but 550$ for the sub/amp/box, not to mention the wiring harness, or front speakers... :/ Sounds great, but damn

how about dropping the two subs, getting a used idmax12 and an amp that can drive it. you'd be getting a lot better bass with that sub then two xplodes

Think i'm going with the ones torgus said...

449 or so for the amp/subs, and i went over to my friends, and got a free box from him, i just need the chip for the hole (I guess y'all know the proper name for that... lol)

Then front speakers... so, 450 + cost of front speakers for my whole set up... not bad. 500 RWS, and a 900W amp... loud as hell, just like he said too. Surprised how nicely conditioned this box was... for he has had it 4 years, it still had 1 of the two subs in it... in perfect condition, but they weren't that good at all...

Anyways, got a box... about to get those 2 subs and amp in a few days and try and find 2 front speakers soon also (Anyone wanna give me a hand? - 94 4dr sedan escort... i can try and find dimensions on them tomorrow, gotta go now though - I know they are real small, it's hardest part about systems in our cars)

So ya want an amp and 2 12s for under $300...here's my suggestion for a budget setup:

    Amp: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=14796
    Subwoofers (2x): http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=295-555

After shipping costs, you'd probably be right around your $300 mark. I'd recommend a 4-gauge wiring kit to power the amp with. Also you can build your own box, it's alot easier than you would think. Remember to follow the airspace recommendations for the particular subwoofer you get. You can't just throw any speaker into any box and expect it to sound good.

online it says you have 6 3/4'' front speakers, rears don't matter at all so forget about them. if you can only fit those your choices are limited. never buy from there but those are most of the brands who make that size speaker. however you might be able to fit 6.5's if you made a custom mdf ring which is what is what i would suggest. read online about your car and how easy it is to get 6.5's in there. i'm sure others have done it. or bring it to a stereo shop and they will make 6.5's fit. if you can get those in, your options are limitless. and you can always do kickpanels but that doesn't sound like your goal as they add alot to the cost.
