if it is sold at bestbuy or circuit city is general rule is just STAY AWAY. also if you've never heard of a brand before it's either ****, or amazing high end stuff that your getting ripped off for.

Torgus, i worked at Circuit City for 2 years, until recently. Circuit carries Eclipse/Polk/Pioneer/MTX/Kicker.... i'm sorry, but i'm sure people often use those brands right there...

And Venom, don't go with Magnum, not worth your time nor effort. How about i sell you an amp and sub without the box for $150shipped and it'll be more worth your time. Only thing though is both are used. It's an MTX Thunder6000 12" and a Kicker KX200.2 amp to power it.

last we were told, this next issue.

We ended up taking first in our class again, running up for Best Of Show (to the guy we took BOS from last year), and 5th in a more advanced class that we were trying our hands at.

This next year should be quite interesting, seeing as how we're making a giant leap to a higher class now....will be fun no matter what.

hmm what should you buy from best buy in terms of car audio? a $120 8awg wireing kit? look i can buy a 0awg kit online for that price...a $150 1.0 farad cap($20 ebay)? maybe a type r sub that costs 2x as much in store as they do online...some nice dual subs? get the FUBAR sub it's awesome...awesomely overpriced.
generally everything there is overpriced and made sub standard(no pun intended). their installers are idiots, at least at the ones around here.

how do you feel my statement is full of ignorance. if anyone asked me where to go to buy car audio i immediatly would say NOT CC or BB goto a car stereo shop or at least goto a tweeter.

The brick and mortar stores exist for a reason. Not everyone out there wants to take the time to do this stuff themselves. Not everyone out there wants to take the risk. Plenty of people have had a lot of bad experiences with buying things online. And NO, not all installers at BB and CC are idiots. My husband was an install manager at CC for 5 years. Take a look at my sig and my web page and tell me he's an idiot. His best friend mnaaged an install bay for BB for a while as well. My husband also got one of the nations best installers on his start in car audio....that's right, everyone has to start somewhere. You yourself didn't know it all when you started to install either. Give the stores credit for where they fit the market. Yes, they are more expensive, but it's because they generally provide what the etailers can't...face to face interaction, buy it and walk out, and customer service.

The stores have their place. Not everyone lives life in the same manner that you do.

Well first of BB sells Alpine and CC now sells Eclipse. Both good brands. My point is that they sell more than Dual comparable brands. Your original statement said "if it is sold at bestbuy or circuit city is general rule is just STAY AWAY. also if you've never heard of a brand before it's either ****, or amazing high end stuff that your getting ripped off for." and now your saying don't shop there because you can get it cheap online. While that may be true any site online that is selling the same product for half the price will not be an authorized dealer and the manufacturer will not honor the warranty. But like I've said before if you can buy a $700 amp for $250 than who need a warranty, I can pay to have it fixed and still be in the black. But I am getting off track. In your new statement you say that CC and BB prices are too high because you can buy it cheaper online but then state that you send people to local car audio shops or tweeter to buy car audio Now I hate to say this because I love my local shop but CC has better prices on all the Eclipse products because they buy such a large quantity.

Second the competence of CC and BB installers has been debated many times on many boards and usually the conclusion is that you have to treat them like local car audio shops. Some are good and some are bad. Just make sure the one in your town is good and the work will be just as good as any other shop. If its bad go somewhere else.

And what makes you think "amazing high end stuff" is a ripoff? Just because you've never heard of a brand doesn't make it crap or a ripoff. Your statement was full of ignorance because you made claims with nothing to back it up.
