ok ive searched & searched & searched......i have a dell c640......& i have a infiniti g20 with a older clariion HU. it has no type of input at all....but the way i have the speaker wires ran, is.......HU wiring harness threw a Scosche 2/4 Channel Speaker Level Converter (FAI-3A) then the speaker wires basically go in to the stock amps.....any way.....is there any way to, say i get one of those splitter plugs that go into the headphones port on the lapotop & then splits into a rca jack,... is there some how have that change into speaker wire & then wired into the input on the inverter, therefore going threw the inverter & then threw the stock amps & then out the speakers???(will this work???) or is there a simpler way....ive seareecd but counldn t find anythoing on laptops

An amplifier simply takes and RCA input and outputs it to the speakers. So just plug your sound card output into your amplifier input, and your PC sounds will play over the car speakers. You just need a headphone jack to RCA cable which are easy to find.

I have the same problem too. My amp takes the stock radio speaker wires into it as a high level input. For my application to work I'll need to take the RCA wires and convert them into speaker wire. Is this even possible?

Get rid of the stock amp and headunit and get an aftermarket amp. You need an amp in order to convert the RCA plugs (which you convert from the 3.5mm audio) to regular speaker wire.

On some car models is it possible to feed RCA inputs into the stock amp. Of course in mose instances there is some wire modding to be done but the signal is the same.

For instance, see this thread which explains how the singal going into the stock amp is merely an RCA signal split onto two wires fed into the amp. This is for a TSX and I don't know which others cars behave like this but just to let you know that it is a possibility.
