Maybe a sub forum in here that would house nothing but Car Audio specifc FAQs?

wonder how much that would actually be used?

Ya that's a toughy. I wonder if would open the door for the non-carputer car audio people to muck it up. But then again, I think the non-carputer people are curious about the whole carpc idea and are just afraid to actually try it and wander in anyways.

Ok enough thread hijacking for me. This might be more suited for a discussion in the Suggestions subforum?

the thing is im going to be spending around 2.5g just in installation including sound deading and everything.

would i need extra custom work to get it to work with a carpc?

ive got a full alpine system 3 Type R subs 4 amps and 3 way splits.

so its a very extreme sound system.

i just wanna know will it all connect up correcctly?

this is what i was afraid of, how much you spend on a system means absolutly nothing. All that matters is whats in it, you can easily spend 4000 dollars on a sony amp... dosn't mean its amazing, just means your an ideot

custom work isn't cheap. It takes knowhow and time. When A) you're not willing to learn to do it yourself B) don't have the time to spend on it, your only other option is to pay someone to do it.

I don't think the guy is saying he spend 6k on the equipment, but rather 6k on the equipment and the labor, which is entirely feasable.

Agreed the norm for this area on custom installs is $75.00 an hour. That adds real fast after the first hour

if you're spending that much i'd definately research a lot. there isn't a lot of custom work on the isntallation side, it's more the setup and tuning that may be a little extra work (not many people are familiar with this type of setup) as far as hook up, the car pc is just like hooking up an amp...or moreso a dac or active processor. you need power, ground, remote and then audio out to your amps.... not all that hard. what are you planning for your equipment (mainly concerned with soundcard) ?
