True, True!!! I did notice one thing about kicker and JL though, JL component speakers definately sound better than Kicker ones... but as far as the subs go as of right now i think Kicker has the upper hand. I would definately like to see if someone can prove me wrong then i will invest in a pair of W7's and have a system that really rocks

Apples and oranges. You had a 12w6v2 which is totally different from the W7. Are you saying that if 400w is enough to push your 12w6v2 then it's enough to push the w7 just as loud? I don't think that's true. Consider this anology...You take a c5 corvette (350hp) and put it up against a civic (190hp?) then the corvette will be faster. But if you apply only 190hp to the vette I bet the civic will be faster. Point being W7 has more mass and a greater distance to move (xmas on W7 1.15" vs your sub's .65") So it's going to require more power to get the desired output than your 12w6v2.

i dont think he was comparing the w6 to the w7, rather the hatch compared to a sedan

    Precisely. Hatch vs. Sedan.

Using my same equipment, I moved it from a civic hatchback to my current Mazda6 sedan.

Of course I am not trying to set any SPL records so I don't care. I'm more of an SQ guy.

There are other factors involved. W7's are power hungry monsters. The L7 is probably mroe efficient with the power and being that it's cone surface area is greater, it probably moves more air then the W7.

But the W7 will play lower than those L7's and sound nice doing it.

You can't beat the L7s for the price though. Absolutely nothing compares to the output of an L7 for under $200. How much is a W7, like $400?

Is wiring up a Prius any different than a regular car due to the hybrid drive? Just curious.
