not to start anything here....but if you based it off of that thought then just about every company out there would go out of business.

Design theft as you put it is common place.

For the longest time there were only a few companies out there that actually made subwoofer baskets.

I'm curious to know what speakers you run?

I've never had first hand experience with the eDs though I really want to have some time in a well set-up car to form my own oponion on them.

no Alpine componnets are rebadged Vifas. but i dont have a problem with Alpine cause they credit Vifa openely. while eD denys it completely and end up geting banned over on icix there for asking questions

oh thats right, it was alpine. you just have a really bad taste in your mouth about them, sorry to hear that.

i know ED had a bad rep when i first got back into car stereo a couple years ago. they were supposed to have horrible shipping delays and what not, since then it seems as if they have been addressing customer service issues. From what i find, the people that don't like ED... HATE ED. and the people that like ED... Love ED. (gross generalization... but you get the point)

they don't claim it their design but also don't mention they're actual scanspeak.... that's as bad.... the only thing how you would know is because of the modelnumbers that are very similar.

I think i will give an input since i got both ED et CDT stuff....

When you say they only rebadge stuff, is it take the speaker basket of a X compagnie, the amp heatsink of a Y brand and so on ...

If it is, yes they rebadge stuff... But they are putting all this together and at the end. it is a different product, and a different price... Ok, there is some chinise stuff, but what budget constumer want is result and price, not how they do...
It is how i understand it...

About the bad things about the ED owner Ben. I really dont know anything about it....

But dont think im a unconditional of ED suff .... I can tell you my lil bad history...
    Quickly...
I bought 2 11ov2 for a DB drag and for daily use after... When testing before the final, we blow the to sub with 3000W of DC (amp clipped and we were too slow to turn of the amp...). It was sad, the voice coil sitted on the basket... ED publicly say that there product are'nt guarantie in SPL competition environment. So I called the guys i bought them (Brent from portimex, the only authorized dealer in canadian) to get them reconed as fast as possible for the final. It cost me the price on one and they sent my 2 "brand new" subs that i receaved the day before the final. So I hooked them up in the spl box, give them a hour and half of break-in and started testing.... When we tryed whit the 2 first sub, we hit 148.7dB whit my Rockford 1001bd (1000wrms...) and 1 battery... But when we tried with the news one, a brand new nine.1, 2 optima in the rear, at 2' of the amp... We didnt get to 142db without having to much excurtion... I rapidly realised that one sub was softer than the other so they get out off phase... After that, we looked at the sub closely and they had absolutly nothing broke... Put them in a box, they play clean... So i called Brent it tell my that he would speak whit ed tech.... We provided all the story and close picture of every part of the sub and they end up telling us that something had happen during the spl test because they test every sub before shipping...But we know that theses subs never saw more than they ratted rms and never excursed more than 1/2 of the max excursion... But what disapointed the most is that they refused to have a chat whit us ...

*On a better note, brent who was supporting us from the beginning accepted to exchange me the softer sub in its next command... So personnally, thing end okay because of him...

Other that that, my ED and CDT experience is great. They are great product and I think they have a better SQ and power than the majority of the mainstream product in the same price range...
