I vote other, I have found that with EVDO cellphone I can stream 128-160Kps Internet radio to the car without any problems. Both XM and Sirius cant match that fidelity. I also have XM but listen to it less and less because the quantity and variety of Internet radio just keeps growing by leaps and bounds. For example, I like Reggae and both XM and Sirius have one dedicated station, but Internet radio has 190 just through winamp shoutcast radio, i.e., not including those I've found on my own across the internet around the world. Hell, I have hiphop playlists sorted by continent - 30 in Europe, 6 in Japan, 5 in Mexico, 14 in South America, etc. Sure I pay more for the internet connection than Sat radio but it does so much more.

Oh and I also get some XM stations through winamp library as well as Orb my entire home library.

I think Sirius uses around 60-80kbps for each music channel and even less for talk. I think they allot 4.5Mb/s to 5Mb/s for the entire Sirius spectrum. XM is the same way. Same total bandwith.

I like sirius. To me it sounds great. I only listen to music channels mainly the 80's, 90's, top hits, classical, classic vinyl, and the french canadian channels. Everynow and then I change to something else just for fun. I get really good reception even for mounting it in a bad spot (on trunk not roof blocked by a spoiler and the rear windshield).

The only reason I got Sirius is because we have Dish Network and they include sirius channels for free, so I got accustomed to listening to it, and I can't stand local radio. Commercial after commercial to get to a crap song. So the CarPC looked like a great opportunity for it.

I like Sirius. They have a dog!

Thumbs up there is Siriusly no comparison (excuse the pun)

I've had exposure to both. Sirius is the hands-down winner.

The music programming team at Sirius is excellent. I can lock it into 28/Faction, 20/Octane, or 23/Hair Nation and not need to change channels all day. When listening to XM I found myself bouncing between channels the same way I do with FM.

Have a good weekend, And bababooey to y'all!
