I have searched quite a bit and didn't find one. good luck though. Is there enough depth to do it?
Hello group,
I am in the research phase and trying to cover as many options before proceeding…
My goal is to install the IVA-W200 into the UPPER double din where my AC control panel is located. I currently have the CDA-9857, single din head unit install using an aftermarket dash kit.
Before I proceed with my install, I wanted to post a message asking if anybody has any experience installing a DOUBLE DIN head unit into the UPPER location of a 2004 Honda Accord. I would love to use the STOCK dash kit, however due to the large circuit board, I do not think that is an option.
Let me add that I am aware that most people install a double din unit into the LOWER compartment with ease, however this is not an option for me. Since this is a touch screen unit, I would like to have the screen mounted higher on the dash so I can see it and reach it better.
Also, in the past, I have owned one of Alpine’s mechanical pull out single din head units and while it worked great, this time I would like to get in the car and go, without having to wait for the screen to open.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated,
Eric

Good question... From what I am hearing at a few of the custom install shops, is yes, there is enough room. However I have not actually looked myself. This afternoon, I am going to my favorite install shop here in Pasadena to discuss my options with the resident guru.
Believe me, all my fingers and toes are crossed...

I take it you're not putting a CarPC in your ride....are you?

I think most people here ask if you're planning on using a carpc just so that they can help you out better. The general idea being that if you aren't going to be implementing a carpc into the system somewhere, then it's really just an audio question, and you might get better help at a forum that dedicated to that. There are some knowledgeable people here for car sound in general, but if you're looking for help with a specific make and model, odds are that no one here will be familiar with it. Just so you know. You might find someone here who does know though.
that's exactly what I was getting at. Thanks awbattles.
