    difference in power cable?

Well I was about to buy some 0 Guage power cable, when my dad informs me that he can score some... however the cable he can get is for welding, its still 0 guage, and used for power, prob. more power then what I'd be using, but still I just wanted to double check if this would be ok to use, or is there something i should be worried about, in which i should just go with normal power cable...

    Thanks

Welding-cable is fine. I wish I had thought about that before I bought overpriced dietz and monitor wiring, So yes, if you can get your hands on welding-cable, go for it! the fibrestructure of the copper strands is usualy much tighther which will make it less easy to brake.

welding cable isnt as flexible as proper cable. And the price savings isnt what it was before. You can get kicker hyperflex for around $2 a foot on ebay.

Best thing to do is to buy the 1/0ga kicker kit on ebay for $60-80

Welding cable is fine. I lurked in car audio forums for a few months before I set up my sound system, and I found lots of people running 0 gauge wire from weldingsupply.com, so that's the way I went, too. Flexibility is good (I tied it into a knot to check) but overrated since it just mostly run down the side of the car in a straight line.

If it wasn't free I'd prob. just get the normal fun colored cable, which I may still have to end up doing, but before my dad bothered scoring me some, I'd figure I would check if it was any good first, so thanks for the quick reply's

I purchased 0 gauge welding wire from ebay. They printed my company name on it, along with my cell phone number. It cost me a total of .75 cents a foot. Around a buck shipped. Flexs almost as much my 0 gauge stuff from a stereo store. There are more strands per foot on the welding wire then the stereo store stuff. Remember electrons are carried on the outside of the wires, so more strands=better. Way cheaper to get the welding leads, hands down. The name is trystarcables.com on the printed part of them.

welding cable will work a charm...just be prepared to cuss it because it's not very flexible at all.
