    i need some speakers

My carputer is finaly, for the most part, done. anyway now i need to hook my car up with some nice speakers. I dont really know anything about car audio but i would like a nice set up. I have a 2002 mercury mountaineer with a mac mini. I dont really have a price range of what it would cost me im hoping someone can tell me what and maybe what would be nice to buy?

First of all.... If you want us to help you out, we cant't do ANYTHING without a budget. There's speakers from $20 to $5K or something..... We don't even know how much power you have to feed them, what music you're listening to, what size they have to be, what kind of speakers you want....

In short: We can't do anything for you without more information......

ok sorry about that. i listen to everything from hiphop to rock. My budget is i guess anywhere from $500-$1,000? more if needed i can just wait till i have the money. I dont really know anything about sizes or what type i need though. I will also have to buy a amp to power them, or atleast i want to. Because my current setup i use a headunit to power my computer so i cant use my glove compartment. did i forget anything?

My suggestion if you're willing to spend $1K on speakers: read up a bit on car-audio first. When you're spending that much, you're in the middle- to upperclass as far a speakers go. So recommending just a few things would be stupid.

I'll give you something to start looking for info.

Do you want a syb? Do you want an active setup? Do you want good SQ or just get loud? How are you wiring things up?

You see? lots of questions where you need to find an answer too. These are only a few questions, but there's lots more. When you spend that much on speakers, don't hold back on (an) amplifier(s) either...

You are working with a pretty good price range. I would definitely look at doing some sound deadening with your setup.

Check out companies like Second Skin and Dynamat. I've layered my whole car in Second Skin. I can say it's an extremely good bang for your buck.

Are you wanting new door speakers and want to add a sub? Which one is more important to you?

Again: If you want to spend $500-1K on only front door speakers, I'd read up a bit on car-audio first. If that budget has to include everything, just buy the best you can get for your money, only looking at brandnames.

    For instance:

    Buy 2 of these
    1 Set of these
    And 1 of these
+ a set of wiring and you're set to go with a nice, inexpensive install!

This is just one option. There is many more out there, but just to start you off....
